Top 100

Top 100 most prescribed drugs in the US. The brand name, generic name, class, indications, dosage forms and strengths… This morning at 7AM one hundred and seventeen other people and myself as well as a few who still needed it, so about one hundred and twenty pharmacy students took the challenge. We studied, we prayed, we shared charts and practiced, we felt defeated and we felt like we could pull through this. This morning we took our test and succeeded. I passed, that was my goal. I don’t know if we all passed but I do know that we all succeeded. We all learned more than we ever thought we could. We all looked in disbelief when we found out we had to pass but none of us gave up. None of us called it quits. We put in what we had and we prevailed. We learned about ourselves and how we study and whether our study skills need improving. We argued and disagreed but we still pulled through. There have been over a thousand students before us and they have gone on to memorize many more drugs than this. They probably look back on this as just the beginning, they look at us and warn us not to get cocky. They know we have a long road in front of us. They’ve already been there. We, on the other hand, are just beginning. Some of us are just now seeing these drugs for the first time. Some of us have no experience. Some of us are working full time, or taking care of families, or building families. We aren’t just students with all the time in the world. What we did, and what those before us did, was succeed at something that seemed insurmountable at the time. And for this we should be proud. Whether we passed this time or not, we have not quit and we have not fallen, nor given up. What we have done is told the masses that we are a force to be reckoned with. We are not to be taken lightly. Congratulations Campbell Pharmacy P1 students. You have done well today!

thanks for reading,
